Should You Drop Out of College to Build Your Business?
One of the most nerve wrecking decisions that a young person can make is to decide if they should drop out of high school or college.
It’s a choice that many entrepreneurs consider and is also something that I have first-hand experience with. Society tells you that you have to finish high school or college in order to become successful…
And that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Lot’s of successful business owners in today’s society have decided to drop out of school in order to pursue their dreams. Some of those entrepreneurs include Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerburg, Travis Kalanick and much more.
Not to say that everyone who drops out of school will become a success like the above entrepreneurs but if you are self-driven and have a strong work ethic then you have a high chance of being a success.
When I decided to drop out of school, there were many factors that contributed to me making that decision. The first factor was simply not being interested in participating in the education system.
I knew from an early age that school wasn’t going to lead me to where I wanted to be in my life. The routine was mundane and the topics being taught had nothing to do with what I wanted to do.
So, I dropped out of high school and was soon forced by my parents to go to community college as an alternative. And as you can probably guess. That didn’t last very long.
I dropped out of community college and decided that I would do whatever it took to build a successful online business. As soon as I found the business model that would generate the most profits, I knew that leaving college would have been the best decision that I’ve ever made.
If your questioning whether or not you should drop out of school, then you should first have a full understanding of the path you are going to take in life before you do so.
Have a clear business plan written out about what you have to do to generate a sustaining income and execute each step until you reach your goal. And if possible, find yourself a business mentor that you can talk to that will help you come to a final decision.
Because everyone’s life situation is unique and each person has a series of habits that will either set them up for success or failure.
Now, if you don’t see yourself doing anything other than starting a business then I would recommend for you to follow your heart. That’s exactly what I have done and I ended up building a profitable online business after lots of failure of course.
It wasn’t easy building a successful business at all so if you believe that it’s not going to take much work, it may be best to go to school while building your business at the same time.
College is great for some people who want to become doctors, nurses, engineers, etc. But for entrepreneurs, it’s like agreeing to a death sentence.
Before you decide to drop out of college, make sure you have a realistic perspective about not only yourself but for your business goals as well. And if you need someone to talk to about your situation then feel free to send me a personal message and I’ll do my best to help you.
